Congratulations Mr Pople
The local neighbourhood team visited the school this week to present Mark Pople with his Coronation Medal which he qualified for prior to retiring from Avon and Somerset
Constabulary last October.
This was to acknowledge his service as a Police Constable at the time of King Charles coming to the throne.
The Medal is meant as a symbol of the critical role that not only the police, but all emergency services play in this
potentially once in a lifetime opportunity to honour the new King. However, it rightly also goes further and recognises all emergency services, such as the police and fire and rescue
services, that go to work every day to protect and support the community.
The medal was presented to Mr Pople by Sergeant Simon Lancey and PCSO Elaine Cave in assembly and it came as a surprise to him.
Mr Pople served in the police for over twenty years, many of them as the local Neighbourhood Police Constable for Street and is still missed by many in the community.
