Welcome to The Crispin House pages. We are committed to offering all of our students opportunities to develop skills that go further than academic achievements. At Crispin we are passionate about students developing confidence, leadership skills, and a well-rounded knowledge of the world waiting for them. A sense of belonging to their House is vital and we look forward to supporting your child through the next five years in their House family.

 

House Competitions Schedule 2017/2018

Theme Months

Competition Eligibility Duration and key dates House points awarded

September - Identity Month

Best presented Tutor base in representing their house All students and staff For the month of September, judging to be undertaken by the HoH for their finalist then PAR to announce the winner on Friday 29th September

100 points to each of the three finalists.

300 points to the winning house.

October - Entrepreneur Month

Dragon’s Den Competition - One team of 5 per house with a member from each year To be undertaken over 6 months. Final presentations and judging to take place in Presentation Month. Each house to donate their profits to their house charity. 500 points for the winning house judged on the amount of money accrued and the quality of their presentation and team-work skills

November - Literacy Month

Crispin Reads Competition – How many books can you read for your house? All students, staff and parents For the month of November. Final totals to be announced on the 30th November. 5 points for every book read. 300 points for the winning house.

December - Charity Month

Christmas Hampers for Charity All students, staff and parents For the month of December. 2 points for every donation. 300 points for the winning house.

January - Leadership Month

Organise an event for your house 1 team of 5 per house with a member from each year To work on behalf of your house to create organise and run and event that the house can attend through the month of January 300 points for the house that gets the most attendees at their event.

February - Mathematics Month

Daily Maths Challenge All students A daily maths challenge posted every day in tutor time. Completed answers in by the end of the day. 2 points for every entry. 25 points per day for the first correct entry.

March - Presentation Month

Inter-house Debate teams 1 debate team of 5 per house with a member from each year Inter-tutor debates each day for a week to decipher debate teams. One debate a week on a Friday lunchtime until we have the final two houses. Final debate to happen on Friday 23rd March 300 points for winning house.

April - Science Month

Science Fair All students Students to plan and participate in their own Science experiment over the course of two weeks. Findings to be presented in School Hall on Friday 27th April 10 points for every entry. 300 points for winning house.

May - Talent Month

Talent Show All students and staff

Student talent show auditions every lunchtime in the week of the 16th April. Final two acts from each house in Crispin’s Got Talent show on the 17h April.

Crispin Staff’s Got Talent on Friday 25th May. One act from each house.

300 points for winning house.

10 points for every act who auditions

300 points for the winning staff act. PAR to judge.

June - Sports Month

Sports Day – Staff relay team to compete for the house too. All students and staff Preparation over the month including creation of banners, cheerleading squad for house, team sheets. 100 Points awarded for most supportive house, best dressed house, best cheerleaders. 5  points awarded for all competitors. 50 points for 1st place, 30 points for second and 15 for 3rd in each event.

July - Celebration Month

None – Consolidation of house points, tallying, creation of final points reveal video documenting the year, organisation of House winner’s prize, transition day, introduction of new year 6’s to houses, new House captains and student leaders voted for.

22/12/17 Best Tutor Carollers Each tutor group to choose a Christmas song to present. HOH to judge final four. PAR to judge and announce winner having watched all four live School Hall, stage and sound system for backing tracks.

19/01/18 The Great Crispin Bake-off All, staff and students Cakes to be brought into school on the Friday, to be judged in the lunchtime and sold as a cake sale at the end of the school day
